I was just wondering how many people have problems with dogs that get carsick! Jesse needs to stop every 45 minutes to take a 5 minute run!

None of my current dogs are, my Rb Dalmatian was though but she got better with age.
The only time Mickey puked in the car was the car ride home from his foster home. :D
My pups are both ok with riding in the truck. :)
Blaze used to get carsick quite often as a puppy, but now he's fine, and LOVES going for car rides!!!:D:D;)
My doxie, Gretta, gets carsick every single time! She has done this since the very first day we brought her home in the car, when she was a tiny puppy. We now only take her if she absolutely has to go to the vet. She can't even have rabies shots anymore as she has terrible life-threatening reactions to them as well. :( If she does have to go to the vet, we have found that giving her some Benadryl helps a little bit, but not completely.
Thankfully, my poodle does very well in the car, she gets nervous but no tummy upset.

Frisk doesn't, and he never has. He's always just too happy to be going for a ride! :D Ethan doesn't get sick, but he doesn't like car rides. He has to be in a crate (because he gets too excited and can't hold it in) and he whines the whole way!
None of them actually get sick, though.
Ginger used to get sick in the car every time, no matter how short the trip was. When she was about a year old she no longer actually threw up in the car, but she salivated soooo much she would be soaked whenever we got wherever we were going. i tried giving her dramamine and benedryl (not together) and it really didn't help much. One of my neighbors suggested putting a doggie bed in the back seat to give her more of a feeling of security. She still doesn't like going in the car, but she tolerates it. The bed really has helped.
a little bit, not enough to make the trips to the dog park worthless
Neither of mine have EVER been car sick. And we've traveled 8-hours round-trip between Branson and St Charles, Missouri, PLENTY of times lol
That is exactly like Jesse! I am still going to make it to a PT convention, no matter how long and how many stops it takes! It is a little difficult getting to our family's shack though. There, she gets to run off leash (it is far away from any road) and she get sit and enjoy herself!Quote:

We usually don't take Sassy to far. But we used to take her to my Grandmas nursing home and she was always carsick when we got there.
we have traveled with our dogs on a regular basis since they were puppys and its always to someplace they adore so they all LOVE car rides and certainly dont get car sick. Shadow got car sick once when we had her, that was traveling from her to Kelowna though lol
Astra got carsick the first few times in a car but now all she does is whine. Molly and Prince have never thrown up in the car.
