Awww..cute pic!!
LOL, nope. There are no polar bears in the Yukon. Thousands of grizzlies and black bears, but no polars. You have to go a long way East and North of me to find them in Canada.
thanks for the info :) sorry if i look dumb :p as soon i saw the pic i though of you and your dogs :D
aww lol id hate to be that dog right about then
What's the story behind that picture? The dog looks like he's chained to something. :)
Cute pic, but I'd have a heart attack!
And, of course, most of the dogs I've ever owned would think that they could take them  .
What a cute pic!!
The picture was taken by Norbert Rosing. He's a famous arctic photographer. I can't find that pic on his website. I did find it and several more of the same dog interacting with the bears available as poster from a working dog site. I'm guessing the dog was part of one of his arctic expeditions which are done by dog team. The dog is chained to the ice, an common practice in the high arctic--there are no trees on the sea ice(heck, there are no trees up there period, even on the land) to tether the expedition team to and using skidoos is still fairly uncommon up there--dogs are much more reliable transportation!Quote:

Wow! Why does the bear not want to kill/eat the dog??
(I would be worried if that were my dog!! )
