Nebo needs prayers
I posted last night about the lump I found on Nebo's leg (see the thread here ) and I made an appointment to take him to the vet today.
The vet said it could be other things, but it looked like a mast cell tumor, which is cancerous. I have an appointment on Thursday to get it removed, then it has to be sent off for testing.
Please please please pray for Nebo, I don't know what I will do if something happens to him....he's my life, I can't even put into words how much I love my boy...he's only 3 years old... :( :( :(

Oh poor Nebo boy. Luckily though even if it is that you caught it early and as long as they remove it all he should be just fine! But hopefully its non-cancerous. They do have non cancerous mast cell tumors, one of my ferrets had one and Nanook has had a few benign mast cell tumors. Good luck sweet Bebo boy!

:( Prayers on the way for Nebo!!!!!! Hope its nothing serious (((Hugs))))

I'll be thinking of Nebo and hoping that it's nothing serious.

Oh no! Prayers and good thoughts on the way for poor Nebo!

Poor guy :( I hope that it's not cancerous.
Mandy had two cancerous tumors removed. One in June '04 and then in July '04 she was back on the operating table because another one had appeared right next to where the first was removed. The vet took out enough skin around it that the tumors did not reappear, and Mandy is now cancer-free :D
In the other thread you mentioned it was on his leg, though, and that seems like a tough spot to remove as much skin as they did on Mandy. I really hope that they can get around it and stretch little Bebo's skin and remove the cancerous tissue.
BUT hopefully it's not cancerous. I'm sure he'll be fine. He is so young and you caught it so early that he'll probably be just fine! :)

We have all paws crossed for Nebo.
Paxil has had mast cell cancer. She had a massive tumor on her back leg when I got her. It was a grade 2 tumor, the least predictable of the mast cells. It was removed on Valentine's Day 05. 10 days later she was back in harness and she's been fine ever since.
Mast cell tumors are very common. One of the hallmarks of a MCT is that the bump will change size, even with in the course of a day they can go from big to small and back again. Treatment is generally just to remove them. No chemo or that kind of stuff. They do often reoccur. I give Paxil a full body massage every couple days. She enjoys it and it gives me a chance to make sure there are no new lumps and bumps!
Nebo's young and from the looks of that pic in the other thread, you caught this very early. Those are both very strong points in his favor! I'm sure he'll be fine.

Amy, I am so sorry to see this. How frightened you must be, at even the chance of it being something serious. Nebo will most definitely be in my prayers. Hugs to you and Nebo. :(
