puppy infection

This should really be on dog health but I thought I might get more replies on here. My 8 week old golden retriever puppy has an eye infection. The vet said it will go down in a couple of days. He is on anti-biotics and has cream to put on his eye. I feel really sorry for him- it looks awful! He has a green gunk coming out of his eyes and his eyes are all swollen. The vet said he has probably just been scratched by another puppy in his litter, but I was just wondering if any of you had any other thoughts on what it could be, and if it would be an on going problem for the rest of his life. x

hmm,im not sure.It sounds like an infection to me so hopefully it'll go down soon :)
Where did you get him from?just curious :) do you have any pictures of him?

I havnt actually got him home yet as the breeder wants to hang on to him until he is better. She's a good breeder (chairman of golden retriever club).

Well if he's been to the vet and is already on medication, just give it some time and he'll come around!! I really like your breeder too, she seems very responsible with keeping the puppy until it gets better!!

I also REALLY like the fact that your breeder wants to keep him till his eyes clear up!! He'll be better in no time! Then you can take tons of pictures and show us!!! :D
