Hybrid Puggles Wiggle Their Way Into Hearts

NEW YORK -- New York has gone to the hybrid dogs.

The New York Post says one of the most popular dogs for families now is the puggle.

That's the cross between a pug and a beagle.

One kennel owner in Queens said people are calling him left and right for puggles. He sells his designer dogs for $650 to $900 each.

The smaller the puppy, the higher the price.

The hybrid trend was started more than 15 years ago by the Australian Labradoodle -- a cross between a Labrador retriever and a poodle.

Cross-breeding can produce a dog that's adorable and has a good temperament and allergy-safe fur.

The Post says even "Sopranos" tough guy James Gandolfini has bought a puggle recently.

There are so many things wrong with that, I can't even begin.

Its so sad that these people dont seem to have a clue that they are buying a mutt. So many dogs in shelters need good loving homes. Ugh! I do not understand people at all. :mad:

I saw this on the news the other night. The puppy I saw look like a mini boxer because of it's coloring. It was adorable but also sad to think of how this will affect things. I'm sure lots of backyard breeders will be popping up all over.

Funny you mention this. My local news aired a story about these cute little MUTTS yesterday. They profiled a BYB selling them for $900.00. Needless to say they got a nice message from me. :mad:

All dogs are cute, but people who would spend cash on a mix breed dog have more money then sense.

That is so sad. I hate that, people can find STUNNING dogs at any rescue center, I dont see people watching the news everyday about all the poor dogs at the pounds that are so beautiful and sweet being put down because nobody wants them!!! IT MAKES ME SICK!!!! :mad:

Parker is adorable. But this designer breeding has to stop!
