Poor Taffy :(

Last night I got home at around 9 and went upstairs to check on Taffy. I turned on my light and what do I see all over his cage other then bright red blood. At first I was hoping that it was just strawberry juice, since I gave him one that morning. I took him out and didn't see anything on him. Then I checked his side and saw that his cyst burst AGAIN.

He has had so many problems with it, but it is too much of a risk to get it removed considering his age and that the last time we were at the vet she accidently popped it while combing his fur and he wound up getting a heart attack.

My main worry right now is infection. I cleaned it last night, and I'm going to clean it again tonight and again until it heals.

I'm just so worried about him. He is my oldest baby, going on about 7-7 1/2 years old now. I'm worried that the stress of this is going to cause him another heart attack, and I'm not sure if his little body could handle that. :(

Sorry to post all of this, I just needed somewhere to let this all out.

Do you have any betadine? That should really help kill any infection...I hope he gets better. :(

I'm sorry Taffy is having problems. :( I hope it doesn't get infected. He really is an old guy isn't he? Pawsitive thoughts coming Taffys way.

So far he is looking pretty good, I think he's sleeping now. He is eating fine, so thats a good sign! Where the cyst was doesn't look to good, though. It still doesn't look like its completely gone, and its kind of gross looking.

Poor baby... I hope he's doing good!
