My little Puddy is sick again. :-(
Hi Friends,
We were doing pretty well, ol' Pud and I. But I can tell right away when things aren't right w/her. She looks as though she's losing weight again and she was sitting next to me on the sofa and yawned and her breath was smelly. That's never a good sign. Her appetite is bad, so I gave her some of the appetite stimulant that Dr. Lee gave me. I cooked roast beef for dinner the other night and cut up some small pieces for her and she scarfed them down, though. So I'm not taking any chances. I have a call in to Dr. Lee. I want to see if he wants me to give her the subcutaneous fluids more often than every 5 days. She was doing well on that schedule but maybe she needs more. If he says to bring her in, then that's what I'll do but hopefully, she'll bounce back. I sure don't want her to be in hospital again. This will be the third time in just a few months. It seems that as soon as the fur grows back on her leg where they shaved it to insert the IV, she gets sick again! Please keep my Puddy in your prayers. My little girl, I just love her so much.
Blessings,
Mary
My vet called this evening
Dr. Feeman, Dr. Lee's associate, called to see how Puddy is doing because Dr. Lee will be out of the office for the next few days. Darn! But Dr. Feeman is good, too. He said to put Puddy back on subQ fluids every other day again and, if she improves, then we'll know that's what she needed. If she doesn't improve (right now she's pretty lethargic), then I'll have to take her in for more blood work. God, I don't want to do that. Not again. Poor little girl has been through so much. She's such a fighter but I can tell she's tired. I'm actually looking forward to administering the juice just to see how she does afterwards. Usually I dread it but I'm hoping that this will be what she needs. I cooked chicken for dinner tonight, her favorite, and she ate w/even more gusto than the she did the roast beef. So I'm keeping a positive attitude that the subQ fluids will do the trick.
Blessings,
M
