I did a good dee and got screwed!
A week ago last Friday I was at the post office mailing out some of the fish cat beds that I had sold online and the post man waiting on me said," you are the one that makes the cat beds" and i said "my mom makes them, but I sell then. Why do you have cats? You need to buy a cat bed then. he said they had 5 cats but that very soon they weren't going to have that many. The way he said it didn't sound too good. He siad they drove him crazy and he didn't ant them. His wife has foudn 4 kittens in the woods half starved and had nursed them back to health, they were going to keep one but the others WERE going to go! She said she had tried everywhere but no one would take them. I told him that I was going to go to my vet the next day with Toby and that sometimes my vet takes kittens and finds homes for them, that I would ask her. Before I even finished my sentence he was writing out his phone number. I asked him how old they were and he didn't know, he thought maybe 4 months. So that afternoon I called his wife and talked to her. She seemed real nice and I asked her if she had had them tested for FIV/FELK and she said yes and that they were neg and she had flea dipped them and wormed them and treated them for ear mites. I told her they had to be healthy if my vet would consider taking them and young enough. She told me they weren't older than 10 weeks old. She also said if she couldn't find someone to take them she would rather put them to sleep than take them to a shelter where she didn't know how they would be put to sleep which I thought was a little strange. I told her since I was going to the vet the next day that i could take them with me and see if she would take them if she didn't I would bring them back to her. She said fine. The next day I drove up in her driveway and the kittens were running loose( she had told me they stayed in the garage). She was bleaching out her garage. She ran up and hugged me. I put the kitten in the carrier and asked her again about what she had done to them. She again told me the same story about testing worming, ear mite treating and said she just flea dipped them that morning. I asked her what vet she had taken them to and she mumbled some area nearby but I didnt' catch it. I got in ready to leave telling her that if she didn't take them I would bring them back and she said she didn't want them back. So here I am doing this stranger a big favor and she screws me over knowing that I am a big sucker and won't just dump the kittens out. So i took them to the vet. I got there and got them out of the carrier and in the van looked them over and they were crawling with fleas!!!! their ears were nasty, Ear mites! I cleaned their ears the best I could. I got advantage for their fleas. The nurse took them back and then brought them back out a few minutes later and said the vet siad that they were older than she take them. they were starting to get their adult teeth in so they were probably about 5 months old. she said they didn't look too healthy especially one of them looked sick. She suggested this lady she knew that take in cats and finds homes and they called her but she was full and couldn't take them. i called who i knew. they too were full. I didn't know what to do with them. My vet said DON"t take they home to yours. The lady obviiously didn't tell the truth about taking them to the vet because when I called and asked her the name and number of her vet and told her my vet wouldn't take them and said they looked sick she wouldn't give me the phone number and she jsut bring them back then. I couldn't take them back for her to either dump them outside to leave there and not take care of or take to animal control. i was so upset I didn't know what to do. I couldn't take them home because if my vet was right and they were sick i wasn't going to give it to mine. i jsut drove around for awhile trying to figure out what to do. I had planned on moving Scooter my other FIV+ cat to TOM"s with Ivy so I decided to do it then and then while my mom was out of town put the three little kittens in the basement until I can figure out what to do with them. i knew my mom once she got home would kill me but i couldn't think of anything else to do with them. The whole time at the vet I was saying i am never going to talk to anyone again!! How do i get myself into these messes? I was jsut trying to make a sale and end up with three kittens! boy is that screwed up!

Anyway, my mom through a big fit when she got home. never again am i to bring an animal there. And these better be gone soon ro she will take them somewhere herself.
And the news just keeps gettingworse. Shamrock this group here that i have worked with with some of my rescues before agreed to test them and spay them for me but had no room to take them. Saturday i took them in to be tested and the little sick one tested + for FELK the other two tested neg. I am devastated. i had fell in love with her. They told me to separate them and to retest in three weeks that foten it will be a false positive. but we all know my luck. Please plesae pray that she test neg in 3 weeks. So now they have to stay in my mom's basemetn for three more weeks and she is now happy. i was hoping they would test neg and I could take them home until i figure out about them. The mess just keeps getting messier. I have temporarily named them for the vet testing sake and that might change becasue i don't know if i am completely happy with the names yet. The little one kylie, the black one jordan and the other orange one harley As i said kylie needs all your prayers. the two neg ones weigh 4 lbs Kylie only weighs 2 lbs. The second vet confirmed what my vet said about their age. 5 to 6 month old they are very very small though so they had a hard life. I have more pics to show later.
