My sister's beautiful cat Roxy is now at the Bridge. She was a 5 year old gorgeous solid steel gray manx. She looked very much like a Russian Blue with no tail. Roxy had lots and lots of attitude and never let me touch her the few times I saw her but I know my sister and her husband loved her very much.
Her life ended very tragically. She had climbed up into a neighbor's truck engine and he started it not knowing she was there. She suffered severe injuries to her back half. Both back legs were broken, one was practically smashed and she suffered deep gashes and cuts to her hip and tail. Unfortunately the neighbor let her drag herself off to the woods and then waited over three hours until my sister came home from work to tell anyone. By the time they got her to an emergency vet it was too late. They had to make the hard decision to give her peace.
You are missed very much little Roxy. After hearing your meowmie's voice crack as she told me the heartbreaking story I know she will miss you for a very long time.
Play hard at the Bridge sweetie.
EDIT: Yes, I agree this is a very terrible story and it does show the dangers of having an outdoor cat but please keep in mind that this is a memorial. I decided to share this in hopes that someone may learn based on the merits of this heartbreaking story alone.
