leash problem
my dog molli, a one year old toy poodle mix, is not good on the leash. Well, sometimes she does very well. What she normally does is pull on the leash so hard that she makes these coughing noises, because she is choking herself. i have tried makeing her walk by my side and say heal, and do little nuges on the leash, but she just pulls harder. Can someone help me?

what we did in our basic obedience class was everytime we walked them and they were healing and looking at me, I would give her a treat and say good heal you could try that! good luck

lead pulling
hi
i have a golden labrador that pulled as a puppy, you can buy a collar that goes over the head and noes,it is very safe, stops pulling, and is called a halti, you buy it in the size of the dog, hope this helps you.let me know how you get on.
good luck sue

yeah the only problem with that sue, is my idea is a more positive and it teaches the dog to have a better walk too so she dosn't have to buy another leash and collor cuz, that kind of stuff can get to be expensive. MY idea also teaches the dog to look up at you too, because when dogs pull it basiacally means there in control and when there no pulling it means the dog respects you. your dog ends up bonding more with you if you use treats too!

leash help
Is your dog clicker trained? If not go to a pet store like petsmart, ask where the clickers are. get one. ( while your there pick up Small treats.) Once you get home, take your treats and your clicker and cilck your clicker and give them a treat Keep doing this intill your dog gets the idea or intill five minutes is up. The next day do the same. If your dogs getting that a ''click'' means a treat start with a walk arond the block and Every time your dog pulls stop and when she comes back to you click and treat and when she's by your side. NEVER pull or jeark a dog back! i hope this helps. If you have questions e-mail me.

thanks everyone for the ideas! they are all great, but we decided to get a harness that goes around the chest. she was choking herself so bad that she was damaging her trechea. (sp?) it works reallly well. she doesn't pull to much anymore, and it seems to be more comfortable. thanks everyone! :)
