Anyone know anything about SAM-e?

I've been feeling slightly depressed and down lately. I know its brought on by stress, and I've always had trouble with dealing with stress. I have been on anxiety controlling drugs in my life, and though they work initially, I find them expensive and the results not as impressive as I'd like.

My boss and a few other people have told me about SAM-e and tonight I picked some up. I'd like to see if it helps me, and I was wondering if anyone here has experience with it -- good, bad, or otherwise.

I don't take any drugs/supplements haphazzardly, and the only other stuff I take on a daily basis is antacids and tylenol sinus. My doctor did bring it up the last time we spoke, I just never did anything about it.

I have heard about this, but what I have heard is you MUST check with your doctor if you are on any other kind of medication, INCLUDING over the counter drugs.

While SAM-e is helpful, it can be extremly harmful if mixed with other substances!!
