The situation in New Orleans/the Gulf...

I was just watching CNN again, and the situation in New Orleans and the surrounding areas is just horrible. So unimaginable. :( The city no longer looks like a city...it looks like the ocean. My heart breaks for the people in the region that are suffering because of this. I was wondering though...how in the WORLD are they going to get rid of all that water? Is it even possible, or has the map changed for good? Will New Orleans end up being part of the Atlantic, and no longer a part of the country, or will they be able to drain the water, and rebuild? I wonder. Its just so much water it seems impossible to 'dry' the city out. Yikes. :(

The ocean, though BEAUTIFUL...can be very dangerous. I'm almost afraid living in a coastal state now. All of this just shows how weak mankind is before God's power. When God wishes to show us His power, there is absolutely nothing any human being could ever do about it. The most we can do is pray. It is scary, the whole situation is scary...but it is certainly something to think about. :( Poor, poor people. Such a heartbreaking tragedy.

The aftermath is going to be so much worse too. There is a lot of sewage in the water, and anyone exposed to it is in danger of getting really sick. I heard a report yesterday that they might have to quarentine people so that things don't spread all over the country.

:( You're right about the power of God PCB. Things like this show how tiny we humans really are.

It makes me sick to my stomach to think what those poor people must be enduring right now. Parts of New Orleans looks like a war zone :( :( :( and they aren't even sure how long it's going to take to get food and water to everyone.

I feel so bad for the people of the Hurricane Katrina. It is so horrible. I couldn't imagine that kind of devistation happening to me. It is so sad!!!:( The Red Cross is getting donations, and the US Is sending Food, Fresh Water, Medicine, Clothing. The US Federal government is sending FEMA to help. The Special Rescue teams from my area, San Fernando Valley are leaving today to help the people who are injured and well, and help find missing relatives in search and rescue teams. Everyone I know in California and elsewhere are praying.

Very sad what the state is going through.
The news said this is the 2nd worse disaster in history
of American. 1st one being the San Francisco Earthquake.

Red Cross needs money donations to help
the people in need.
I think I read that The American Kennel Club is setting up
something for the animals.
Someone posted about the (Emergency Animal Rescue Service) of the United Animal Nations to donate too.

They're saying thousands are feared dead now, and recovery will take years. My gosh. :(

I read today that it can be 4 or 5 months before people can live again in New Orleans. I am so very sorry for the people over there.

All over the world mankind has spread into areas that belong to nature. We had floods in the Alps two weeks ago and lots of mudslides. It looks as if nature strikes back. It is scary and may change our lifes in the next 100 years more than any economic or political change could do.
