Katrina pet rescue--places to donate

Here are a couple of links for places where people can make donations to organizations that will be trying to rescue animals affected by Hurricane Katrina:

And, of course, the Red Cross and other organizations need money to help out the many, many, many people who have been flooded out of their homes.

Saw some video on the news tonight of three dogs on a roof - waiting to be rescued. :( There was also a mention of how horrible things are with all the flooding....and all the dead animals floating by. :( However, there was also a Coast Guard guy talking about how heart wrenching it is to have to leave some people behind and he said yes, that's hard, but it's hard leaving a family's pets behind also. He says "I'm and animal lover and it just tears me apart to have to leave the animals behind." So I know there are people who care and will start working on rescuing the animals as soon as they get all the people safe.
