Wild Kittens!
We have a (I'm assuming) female tortishell. She is a wild kitten that my neighbors down the street caught last night, we have her set up in a crate and we think she is 3 months old. She surprisingly isn't very scared of me! Last night she was, this morning sorta, and now she is pretty ok, she lets me pet her but after about 3 times she'll hiss at me to stop and I will. She also lets me scratch her ears but I'm guessing that's just because she has ear mites. I've named her Cashmere and we're trying to catch her siblings and hopefully her mom as well. The other kittens are a grey & white named Boots and a black named Starry. I don't know any of the sexes, except momma of course:p she doesn't have a name yet though.

She sounds like she'll come around pretty quickly. The best thing to do when you're petting her and she hisses and spits at you is to keep on petting her. She's feeling you out to see if you scare easily. Once she knows that you're not afraid of her, she'll come around.
Glad you were able to catch her and give her a home. Good luck catching her siblings.

She let me pick her up today! I'm really happy about that, she didn't struggle or freak out when I picked her up! Cahsmere will make some one a good pet, I'm sure!:D

She purred!! I was holding and petting her and she purred!! At first for like a second and then it was full blown purring!! I'm so happy, the only thing I worry about is when she is in her cage she hisses and growls and meows at me, I'm starting to think she is just "talking", not scared or anything, it's really difficult to explain...

I did it!! I did it all by myself:)
I got a wild that was going to be put down because she was thought be to old to be tamed, tamed her in 3 days, and I found her a home! I'm really proud of myself, I know it won't always be this easy, but it will lift me up when I'm having trouble. BTW Cashmere is going to live with my neighbor! She has 1 cat and 1 dog, so I'll get to see Cashmere almost daily! I'm really happy, she'll probably leave us in a week or so, she needs a bit more work and then has to get shots and spayed. I'll keep posting updates about her!

WOW Cashmere is one lucky kitten to have been found by you. And you should feel so proud of yourself for giving her a happy ending. There are way too many ferals out there and not enough people willing to spending the time and energy. Great work.
