Doyle update
Doyle is home with her owner and her kitty sister. NBC 10 news did a follow up story last night. NBC 10 received over 100 e-mails from viewers wanting to help. One viewer arranged to meet the owner at the vet's office and paid the bill in cash. Doyle, who will be in the cast for about 4 weeks was then reunited with her owner. I did understand the vet's position on this but my initial reaction was purely emotional and not based on reason. As many of you pointed out, the vet must collect his fees to continue providing care to sick and injured pets. Thanks to everyone for the insight.....

Momcat that is such wonderful news!! I am so happy for Doyle and her family. I understand also that the vet must collect their fees, it just seemed an awfully extreme way to do so, by either holding the cat basically hostage or putting it to sleep.
Anyway, I am grateful to the person who paid the bill and all the others that got involved and most thankful that this had a happy ending!

That's great news! Can see both sides now but it was paramount to get the innocent victim back home

IT IS A SHAME,THAT THERE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE,THAT WILL CHEAT,THE VETS,AND MAKE,IT TOUGH,FOR THE POOR,BUT HONEST PET GUARDIANS,THAT ARE OUT THERE,WHO MAY NEED,TO MAKE A TIME PAYMENT DEAL.
WE ARE GLAD,THAT DOYLE,IS WITH HIS NEW GUARDIANS,AND BLESS,THAT GOOD SAMARATIN,WHO PAID,DOYLES BILL.THEY WILL BE REPAID,MANY TIMES OVER,WITH GOOD KARMA,FROM THE PET TALKER ANGELS.

The power of the media! I read the other thread about Doyle falling & breaking his leg, but others already said what I would have so I didn't post. ;) I'm sure the vet even got some extra $$$ to defray his mounting un-paid bills from deadbeats. I would think that Doyle's owner would have had access to a credit card anyway, be it a friends, or his own, but maybe not. Glad Doyle's back where he's loved and wanted. :)
