Black spots?
My sister's kitty, Precious, is going to the vet tonight. She has been hacking for a few days but nothing comes up. She also seems weak and lethargic. She weezes when she breaths. there are black spots on her fur that she doesn't Julia to touch or to try to see what they are but that's because she just doesn't like to stay still at any time.
Has anyone heard of something like this?
EDIT: Julia said it looks more like black goo and looks sticky. Precious is drinking water though. She had some this morning.

I can't imagine what the black spots might be. Is she/he an outdoor cat? Maybe it got into something outside and has been trying to clean the fur therefore upsetting the stomach by licking off the black goo. It is good that your sister is taking Precious to the vets anyway. Lethargy, weakness and wheezing are worth getting a doctors opinion on. Please let us know the outcome of the visit is. I hope it isn't anything serious.

If precious idoes go out side it could be tar on her fur. And I think a trip to the vet is more than called for. Please let us know how Precious does.

Definitely a trip to the vets is in order.
Depending where the spots are it could be a number of things.
I have Persians and one of them gets kitty acne which shows up at first as black spots around her lips and chin. Daily cleaning (providing the cat will let you) keeps it from infecting and spreading. Daily cleaning and topical ointment clear it up as well.
Also it could be stud tail, but like I said depends where these spots are.
