Had an argument with my landlord today

While I was vacuuming today at 1:00 pm, I blew a fuse in 3 of my 5 rooms. No air conditioning, no ceiling fans, NOTHING!!! :mad: I called Zeph (my landlord) and told him what happened. He said that he couldn't come over till 4:30 because he didn't have access to the fuse box, which is located in the first floor apartment. The tenant was at work. I'm getting really fed up with living in such an old building. It was 93 degrees out today and the apartment was sweltering.

Anyway, 4:30 comes around, no landlord. I call him, he's turned his phone off. Finally, at 5:30 he calls. :mad: Says he couldn't come until 6:00 because he was watching the stock market!! :mad: Sure, HE'S got central air in his house!! :mad:

He shows up, gets everything going and comes up to reset my tv so I can tape cable channels. As he's leaving, I pick Parker up so she doesn't run. He asked who she was. I told him. I'm fostering her for PurrsAbound. He got mad! He didn't even notice her when he came into the building!

"You've gotta stop this, Donna!" I told him she's not causing any trouble. He said, "Yeah, well the other tenants are the ones who have to deal with the cat box odors!" I was pissed!!! :mad:

My reply was, "Yeah, well I'm the one who has to deal with the foot traffic coming in and out of this building at all hours of the night, and the drugs. At least what I'M doing isn't illegal!!!"

I don't want to have to give up Parker if I don't have to. She's no bother at all!!

UGH!! :mad: Thanks for letting me vent.

some people are just a$#%&!@s. I guess your landlord is one of them. I am sorry you have to deal with the likes. I am in a similar situation where I live only the landlord says nothing of the cats simply because he doesn't know and doesn't care. I think we need to take all the idiot landlord and put them in a box and sink it to the bottom of the ocean. They are just such treasure so I say lets bury them. LOL

Sounds like he was just bugged that you made him do his landlordly duty of taking care of his property. What were you thinking ;) I mean jeeze, does he expect to sit on his rump all day in airconditioned room watching tickertapes while collecting rent and not expect to actually provide basic necessities like electric?

What a moron your landlord is! Hopefully now that you have a fulltime job you can begin the hunt for a great new apartment!

Parker's not going anywhere. He didn't make a stink when I had Mattie Grace and her kittens here, so what's the big deal. I just don't care anymore. He's being a real jerk.

I'm staying here one more year in order to get settled in my new job and save some money. Then he can kiss my ass goodbye.

Good for you, Donna! I think that he got p.o.ed because he actually had to get off of his butt to fix a building problem. It's interesting that he doesn't worry about the bigger problems in your building, he only worries about your cat boxes! I agree with you, it does sound like he's becoming a BIG jerk.
