Hey I'm home!!
As I open the door
I hear the cry!
The sleeping cat
has opened his eyes!
The door is open
Dad is home.
I've got company-
I'm no longer alone.
I climb into my chair
To take off my shoes.
and here comes the cat
To remove me from my blues.
As I bend over to
release my shoe laces
and there I am greeted
by cat tail in my face(s)!
A pass by my shin.
a rub on my leg.
A little ear scratch
is all that he begs.
A soft little cry
"dad, that hits the spot!"
Scratch me some more!
Just not alot!
This is my reward
after a day full of work.
Of dealing with morons
pinheads and jerks.
A folorn look
a jump to my lap
Come on Dad,
Don't be a such a sap!
I'm ready to play
and be chased around
I depend on you
To make like a clown.
Forget your bad day
forget all your worries..
Come on play with me!
I'm not in a hurry
If this is my reward
Of a day full of stress,
Then this is the part
Of my day I love best!
:D

You hit the nail on the head with that one, Richard. So easy to forget all your woes when you've got a soft tail wrapping around your leg wanting to play. :D

This is one of your finest RICHARD. I hope you don't mind, but i've written your poems out for reading pleasure.:D
