Starting a dog park

OK, I'm just wondering if any of you have started a dog park in you area and how you went about doing it, or how to go about starting a dog park?

we have a dog park (see my smokey and the dog park post) near here but it is quite a hike (bout a 30 min drive, no traffic)

and we are kinda hoping to find one in the area (no luck)...

any ideas?

I don't know, however, I probably will never take my dogs to the dog park again unless for a PT meet. People take mean dogs to dog parks and can cause many dogs to become dog aggressive (like what happened with Josie)

I very much enjoy dog parks.
There are many in my area too..
I am not sure how you would go about starting one..

i guess find some land for sale, make a bid, buy it, fence it....
and walah.. you have a dog park lol

There's a website called dogpark.com. Check it out. We're trying to raise money for a dog park in the area. We need $12,000 but only have $2,000. So we're trying to find funds to build it. We have the land. But that's it.
