It was exactly 1 year ago today...
That my sweet baby boy, Perkins, was put to sleep. :( :( :(

My Dearest Perkins,

I can't believe that its been a whole year since I last saw you and held you in my arms. Words will never be able to describe how much I miss you baby boy. As I sit here, with tears streaming down my face, I remember all the good times I had with you, and how thankful I am that you came into my life. Thank you for sending me Squeek and Misty, you knew how lonely I was not having a cat around... they have been such a help in easing the pain of your loss.

You were taken from us much, much too soon. We all wish you could have been with us so many years more. You brought so much joy into our lives, laughter and tears.

Sending all my love to you my sweet Perkies. Love you always.

I created this poem shortly after Perkins' death. I've posted it before, but here it is again.

As the sun shines brightly through the door,
I expect to see you all sprawled out on the floor.
But then I remember that you?re not here,
And only wish I could hold you near.

No matter how hard I try,
It's still so hard not to cry.
Although you're gone you?re still in my heart,
Of which you will always remain a great part.

As days pass by and the seasons go,
I still always am missing you so.
Though I know your in better place
How I miss seeing your sweet face.

I still think back to that tragic day,
All was somber and so gray.
Making the decision to have you leave,
Was so hard to imagine and still I grieve.

When saying goodbye I held you tight,
Trying not to be sad with all my might.
I told you how I would try to stay strong,
Then I sung you your special song.

I stayed there with you til the end,
Doing my best to be a good friend.
Again and again I told you I loved you,
Until I was no longer in your view.

Now your above and look down at me,
No longer in pain just happy and free.
I hope one day our paths may meet.
And you'll be there waiting to greet.

What a sweet Orange Angel,and he misses you,as much as you miss him,and one day,you will be reunited,and you will have so much,to catch up on,and so many places,to see,as he has been scouting,the World,with The Pet Angel Pet Army,and has found places,that you can go,to together.

Those wonderful orange cats always manage to pull on your heartstrings the hardest. RIP dear one and know that you were loved and are missed.

What a heartwarming and wonderful tribute to Perkins. I remember when he was COTD and then when he passed on.:( He sure was a very handsome cat. RIP sweet Perkins.

That was truly a lovely tribute to a very special Orangie Boy. I can tell the memories help you get through the day. RIP sweet boy, you are much loved.

Amanda, I hope I'm not too late to respond to this. I have not been as diligent as I should be in watching for the memorials.

What a sweet orangie boy Perkins is and oh so handsome. That was a beautiful tribute and I just love the poem.

My heart goes out to you and I hope you know that you can take comfort in knowing that Mr. Perkins is watching over you and wants you to know that he's OK and enjoying his eternal life at the RB.
