This is her sitting on a normal size napkin. She is abot 3 inches long by 1 inch wide.
Love the pic! Hissing cockroaches are very cool.
Is it a dwarf hisser?
Nope she is a regular hisser and about as big as I have ever seen them. I haven't heard any accounts of them getting much bigger than 3 inches. My friend has the male, we intend to breed them this summer. He is actualy about 3 inches too. Normally the males are smaller. The store I got her at also had dwarfs that were only about 1 1/2 inches long.
Cool. Have you seen photos of mine? :)
No I haven't. Lets see 'em.
Well I had two hissers, don't anymore but you can search in Pet General for them. I posted many photos. Now I have a Giant Cave Cockroach but will be adding a few more hissers as well as a false deathhead cockroach to my collection next week. =)
Wow, I love the orange coloring. Where do you get yours? I know many places to order online, but I prefer not to ship if I can just go to the pet store. I got my pair for $30, which is very expensive. I see them online for the same price for two dozen, but I would rather just go pick up two of them instead of ordering in bulk online.
They sell them at my local petshop and are only about 3 dollars. :)
Oh heck I'm coming to your town wherever that is. The next "litter" Requiem has are going for maybe five bucks a pop to good homes only. People must think I'm nuts when I get picky about the homes they go to. Around here there is only an exotic animal store that sells them, pet stores such as the petsmart and petco in our area have never sold them and have no plans to. Many people here have never even heard of hissers. Not a worldly place I live in. Oh well you live some you learn some.
