Did it again
After the last two that just about broke my heart I wasn't going to do this again, but I picked up a new foster tonight. Was one I was supposed to get several months ago, but the lady changed her mind. This time her husband said the dog HAD to go. They wouldn't even wait until Friday night - I had to get her tonight. When I heard that, I knew I had to go get her. Didn't want to take a chance on leaving her any longer than necessary.
Here is Abby:

What a cutie! My grandma has a yorkie named Scooter that looks EXACTLY like Abby when he gets a hair cut! They could pass as doggie siblings :)
-
Good for you for doing it anyway!! Abby is sure cute!
-
I wish I lived in Iowa, I'd adopt her. She is sooooo adorable. I hope you find her a good home. Good luck and thanks for fostering her. I bet she's in good hands.

That is one adorable dog. You shouldn't have any problem finding her a home.
What's her name?
Mary

I would too...I would take her in a heartbeat..do you know her age? She looks like a sweetie...
-
What a cutie! Good on you for rescuing her! I've decided that I just can't foster anymore - I barely have time for my three- but I still work the adoption events and fundraisers!
BTW - How's Max feeling?

Well, it looks like little Abby may have a new home. Received quite a few applications, but one was from a woman who already has two yorkies - a 16.5 y/o girl who is in failing health and a 1.5 y/o little boy. She is looking for a playmate for her boy, Riley.
I've checked her references, talked to her vet and talked to her. We have a home visit set for Sunday. If all goes well, we'll be making plans for her to come and get Abby.
I'll miss her, but I think this is the right home for her. The lady loves her dogs. Her kids are grown and she treats them like her furkids. That's what I want for Abby. Someone to accept her the way she is - a Yorkie - and to love her in spite of it. (You almost have to - they are such characters!!)

She looks just like this little guy. He was surrendered to me yesterday and I took him to our Yorkie rescue breed rep.

He's so cute! Why was he surrendered?
And thank you so much for taking him to yorkie rescue!!!! They will find him a good home.

I volunteer for the Seattle Pure Dog Rescue so I have contacts for all of the breed reps, thank goodness. His owner works at the same place I do and he asked my husband If i would take him into rescue because he digs of all things. Any way he will now get altered and go to a good home.

You know that's funny. That's one of the reasons Abby's old family gave. She actually dug a whole in their carpet. Not funny, but it's what they deserved for how they treated her. She's not done that at my house.

It's official. Abby goes to her furever home on Saturday. Virginia is coming to pick her up. I'm so happy for both of them. Abby deserves someone who will love her. She's such a cutie. I'll miss her but this is why I'm doing this - to give her another chance at happiness. Virginia sounded so happy this afternoon. She can't wait to come.
:D

Congratulations for a job well done, Robin. This adoption has to be very satisfying for you, a joy for Virginia, and of course Abby will finally have a loving forever home.
