I know Murphy is petrified of the vaccum cleaner. I HAD to vaccum today since I've been avoiding it while he hangs out downstairs... but I couldn't step over the trails of litter and fur any longer. Out the vaccuum came. Two seconds later he went tearing through the dining room and I KNOW the boy ended up in the kitchen. WHERE? Last time one of my kids did that, it was Harry and he ended up UNDER the dishwasher. Checked there for Murph and nope, he ain't there.
Let me tell you, looking for a black kitten under dark spaces is NOT EASY! Sigh. Last time he freaked over the vaccum... it took him over 6 hours to re-emerge. I'm afraid to move or turn anything on - the dishwasher NEEDS to be loaded and run, but I won't until I see him again. Any guesses as to where he could be?

Here murphy, kitty kitty kitty, come out where your meowmie can see you.
kitty kitty kitty, the floor is all clean for you.....
hope you find him soon:confused:

Check under or behind the stove and refridgerator

Does he come when you rattle the treat container?
Come on Murphy, the big bad vacuum is all put away and it's safe for you to come out again. :)
-
He does not come when I rattle a treat container! Abby and Harry were right there within two seconds though  I am afraid to try to move anything out to look under or behind because he is that terrified right now. Still no sign of him and it has been about 2 hours since the mean old vaccuum came out. :(

Mitzi feels Murphy's pain. She disappears for many hours every time I vacuum. Sometimes shaking the treat container works, but I've found that ignoring her and not trying to entice her out works better. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

I have been putting off vaccuming because my all run in terror when I just bring it up the hall... BUTTTTT, that is going to work to MY advantage real soon.. I want to bring the two wild boys out and put on a leash in the BIG OPEN kitchen and that is what I am going to do while I vaccume their room! Set the vaccume in front of my closed bedroom door and walla... Two jobs at once!
Leave your baby alone, Murphy will come out when HE is ready and not before.. he IS a C-A-T, right?
-
AHA! Little boy came out on his own... covered in cobwebs and dust. Hmmm... me thinks its time to do a thorough kitchen cleaning. It took him 6 hours, and he didn't emerge until I left the house for half an hour!
-
So now HE needs a good vacuuming! :D Yeah, right <smack> just try it!
-
Awww, poor Murphy. I just close the kitties off in a bedroom with a shut door first, or shut them out of the bedroom if I am vacuuming in there .... that seems to work fine for me!!!
Glad he out again .... poor baby! ;)

When cats,are scared,they hide,from fear,and then stay hidden,out of spite,until you,are so worried,about them,Then they just saunter out,without a care,in the world!

I'm so glad that Murphy has resurfaced! I was reading through this thread and thinking "Oh no!! I hope he hasn't gotten stuck under something and Kim has to take her kitchen apart!" Those kitties do have a tendancy to get you in a mess sometime!;) :D Of course, Pouncer has trained you well! :D :D :D
