And God Asked The Cat.............

And God asked the feline spirit
Are you ready to come home?
Oh, yes, quite so, replied the precious soul
And, as a cat, I am most able
To decide anything for myself

Are you coming then? asked God.
Soon, replied the whiskered angel
But I must come slowly.
For my human friends are troubled.
For you see, they need me, quite certainly.

But don't they understand? asked God
That you'll never leave them?
That you souls are intertwined for all eternity?
That nothing is created or destroyed?
It just is...forever and ever and ever.

Eventually they will understand,
Replied the glorious cat.
For I will whisper into their hearts
That I am always with them
I just am...forever and ever and ever.

What a beautiful poem and thanks for posting it, that is how I feel about my RB Sooti, I will see him again oneday, I am sure it helps all of us who have lost a dear pet to think along these lines,and it is comforting to read the poem, thank you.:)

if you wrote that beautiful poem, you should have it published:) :) ..it's always the poem that makes me cry...and since you shared that i will share the one i wrote the day after my brother passed, it can be applied to any loss though or i wouldn't post it here..

I can't take the credit for the poem, but thought it was nice, and deserved to be here. Very touching poem you wrote for your brother. ;)
