Ducks?
Does anyone know anything about how to raise a duck? I just recieved one from a local pet dealer who was getting ready to feed it to a snake. It just looked so completely helpless that I couldn't let that happen, but the problem is that I am unprepared for it and I need some info quick. I have been searching online for a while now, and I just can't find what I am looking for. If anyone has info on what to feed it and how best to take care of it, I would greatly appreciate the shared knowledge... http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/confused.gif

I don't know a whole lot, but I will share what I do know - keep the duck protected, as a friend had hers eaten by a raccoon. Cracked corn is yummy to ducks, how old is the duck? Is it just a baby duckling? Give him/her a tub of water to play in ... I'll try to find more info and get back to you!

Okay, I went surfing and found some very helpful sites about raising ducks. These first two mainly talk about how to house them, keeping them warm (very important if it's a duckling), etc. http://www.metzerfarms.com/raise.htm http://oror.essortment.com/shelterplancud_rkku.htm
This site has very straightforward info on what to feed your duck (besides cracked corn!) http://www.ces.ncsu.edu/depts/poulsc...fo/4Fact02.htm
What kind of duck is it, and how old?
