Very worried
Hello. Im new to this site. I have a beautiful cat that is about 5 years old. He is overweight due to genetics b/c i also have another cat from the same litter and she is overweight also.
Today Oreo had a breathing very heavily and it was like his heart was racing. This is the second time this has happened in the past 2 weeks. But then after like 20 minutes he is fine.
He is also peeing around which is not like him at all. and then he will start using his liter box again.
So im not sure what i should do or what could be wrong with him.
Any ideas or suggestions would be very helpful.
Thanks

Hello

The best and safest thing to do is have a vet check him out. I have no idea what could be causing that. Good luck and let us know what you find out.

update
We brought oreo to the vet today. They said he might have a Uti but they are thinking Feline Lower urinary tract infection which would include the ureteral blockage. Which makes me very upset. We had 2 other cats that had this and the surgery is very expensive and we ended up havin to put both cats down b/c they were in soo much pain weeks after the surgery. They put oreo on some antibiotics and also switched his food over and they said if they caught it early enough that it maybe reversed. Im still nervous anyways

I am glad he got to the vet, hopefully things will clear up without the surgery.

It's so heartbreaking to see our furbabies sick, isn't it? Prayers on the way that the meds work and he'll be all better soon.
