Does your dog open gifts?

Do you wrap gifts for your dog? If so, do they actually unwrap them?

Smokey (RB) was the master of opening gifts. He'd rip the paper into the tiniest pieces possible. Usually several times before Christmas he would pick out his presents from under the tree (he always knew which were his!) and open them.

Reggie used to at least try and open them, but this year he didn't much...kinda pawed at them a bit then gave up. :rolleyes:

Sydney, well, what can I say...lol she's Syd, the sweetest little girl but not always the brightest. She didn't have a clue what all this paper ripping stuff was about (funny though she always knows how to steal toilet paper from the garbage and rip it up...)

Nebo was sooooooooo excited to open gifts this Christmas! He's always opened them but he was really enthusiastic this year. In fact, he helped EVERYONE open their gifts, I know they all appreciated his help. :p

I took a video but this was after he'd already helped open a ton of presents (and ripped apart a box) so he wasn't as excited as he was earlier. If you notice a bunch of brown things around him that was from a few minutes before when he thought it would be fun to rip the entire box apart....he starts ripping the box for his gift near the end too lol.

Yep all 4 dogs are enthuasiastic when opening gifts :D. Clover is like Nebo she just loves to help everyone else ;).

Dear Casey (my First Shepherd, now RB :( )
had another Christmas "Talent"...
From PuppyHood she'd been trained to Un-Wrap her own presents ~
Dawggie Bisquits were placed in ALL her wrapped gifts and her stocking -
and she caught on at her First Christmas ~
Even if she didn't appreciate the "gift" - there was always a
tastie TREAT under that pretty paper & ribbon!
Four Pawz & a mouthfull of toofies could strip a package in seconds!
When Arrow, da *Watch Dawg* (also now RB :( ) arrived at da Ranch -
Casey "taught" him the UN-Wrap drill - and he was a FAST Learner!
Da Kat was also a participant -
her gifts had "Pounce" Treats and Kat-NIP under the Wraps.

About their third Christmas; we were having Family over...
Extra prezints were plentiful under the Tree on Christmas Eve in
anticipation of the Family Krowd on Christmas Day.

Included were MANY Packages for Casy & Arrow Dawgs and Fred, da Kat.
As was the Custom - THEIR Prezintz were "salted" wiff Dog and Kat Treats
under the wraps or in the boxes.

Santa & the Elf finished arranging da Loot under the Tree ...
Off to the BigBed - Hoomins, Two Dawgs, anna Kat.
Zzzzzzzzzz till Xmas Morn...

We missed the first *hint* of what was to soon be disovered ~
Da KAT was *stoned* beyond belief on the BigBed come morning!
And da Dawgz weren't too eager to get up -
I though I heard someone *BuRRp*!

"C'mone Guyz ~ Let's go see what SandiePawz brung ya!"
Out to the Living Room we go...

OMG!!
The room was a major **DISASTER**!!
There wasn't a SINGLE present that wasn't either completely UN-Wrapped
or hadn't at least been *inspected* by a Dawg or da Kat! :rolleyes:

They even pulled the STOCKINGS down off the mantle!
SHREDS of paper & ribbon covered the living & dining rooms!
ALL Dawg & Kat and Two-Legger /Hoomin prezzies were
De-Wrapped and De-Boxed and THOROUGHLY *inspected* for the
sought-after hidden *treats*...

GUD GRIEF!! :(

Most of Christmas Day was spent cleaning, salvaging, and RE-Wrapping...

Kumpany Kame ...
Gifts were exchanged ...
*Puzzled Looks* were given ... ??

Seemed that more than a few gifts had received a bit of
"personalization" by da Santa'z Helpurz Kritterz...
a Toofie Mark here,
a Klaw Skratch there...

It was a Memorable :D Christmas ~
Family Members were bursting into laughter HOURS later!

RIP, Casey, Arrow, and Fred!
May all Three of you FurKids have another Wonderful Christmas

The Current FurKids give it a go - but they pretty much stop
rippin & tearin as soon as the gift begins to appear.
My Sis sent Cinder & Smokey a two-pack (each) of Fancy bone shaped
cookies... Smoke grabbed his off the pile and began "opening" it
under the dining room table.
When I looked, he was Very Happily <chonkin> BOTH cookies along with
the Bow, the Wrapping Paper, AND the plastic shrink-wrap
and labels covering each cookie! :rolleyes:

Both Lacey and Mandy love to open gifts. They even started opening the cats gifts and the cats and I had to move to another room! They also try to help open our presents, we have to play tug of war to open ours! :D

Tango and and Echo don't bother to even try to open them. Tia LOVES to open everyones gifts though :rolleyes::D

yes my dogs open gifts :) one year Rocky's first christmas opened a nylabone I got him :D it was so cute we have it on a tape!

Yes, Heidi opens her gifts. I have to rip a little of it though, to get her started or else she won't go. I think she thinks she might get in trouble if she does it. :rolleyes: Such a silly puppy! I love to watch her open them though. I think its cute.

:) Gonzo is like Heidi. I have to tell him it's "okay" to open his gifts... after an incident during his first Christmas with us, when he decided it'd be fun to sneak downstairs and tear open everyone's presents :rolleyes:

lol, I don't think ANYONE here is going to vote "I don't give my dogs gifts" :D

Mickey will try to rip it open, but he's such a delicate little wuss (;)) so he usually bobs it with his nose or paws at it. We open up his gifts for him usually.

Garth LOVES to open gifts. He opens everyone's.. but only after he's been told it's ok ;)
