So Sad! :(
I'm so sad for my friend, Susie, my vet. :(
This morning at 6:00, she did a spleenectomy on her 7 year old Ridgeback, Zane. Our mutual friend, Katy, helped her with the surgery.
We had a Christmas party this afternoon and my friend Susie didn't show. We figured she was tending to her pup. At about 8:00, people began going home and Katy decided to drive by the clinic to see if Susie was still there and to check on Zane. I told her to call me if they were still there.
Katy called me to say they both weren't there (not good for a splenectomy patient) and that the book that tracks the fluid used for euthanasia showed she took some home. :( :( :(
My heart aches so badly for her. She loves that dog so much...so much. :( I wanted to call her so badly, help her, do anything to help ease her pain. :( :( :( I know she'll want to be alone, so I wont.
Another friend and I are going to send her flowers tomorrow. I think all white with lots of roses.
Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. :(
Sweet angel, Zane. Frolic and play at the Bridge honey. You deserve to be happy and healthy again. Your mommy will miss you so, as will all who knew you.

:( Poor Susie. I hope she feels better knowing he was home and happy when he passed.

That has to be so very hard to do, to your own beloved pet... Let her know you are there, the flowers are a wonderful idea.
