Fresh straw, lots of pics
This afternoon I put fresh straw in all the doghouses. I hate doing it as I am wildly allergic to straw, but it's getting colder so they need some more insulation. Straw day is very exciting for the dogs!

C'mon Mom, get to my house. What is taking you so long?

Pingo is still in her little nest. She came out, grabbed a hunk of meat for dinner and went right back in! She loves straw!

Pacer rearranging everything just the way he likes it.

Bandit didn't even want to lift his head for a pic!

And finally, Earle did get his house filled up!
All the straw will probably be kicked out into the snow tomorrow!

Reminds me of Arrow - my RB :( Guard Dawg!
He was an INside / Outside Dawg - but MUCH preferred his
fancy, well insulated, Dawggie Howze to the too-stuffie
2-Legger hangout.
As his first winter neared, I thought he'd appreciate a
soft "nest" in his Howze.
WRONG! :(
First we tried "fresh horse hay" ...
It was tossed out before I got upstairs and looked out the window.
How bout a nice thick RUG?
NOPE! Took him all night; but it was *out* by morning.
Maybe STRAW?
Thanks, but NO! Out as fast as the fresh hay!
Possibly a nice Blanket?
He PLAYED with that - out in his "yard".
Shreded to bits in a day or two.
An old Dad's COAT?
Another chew toy...
A plain ole SHEET?
Just made smaller bits & pieces in the yard.
He's GOTTA have SUMPIN to keep warm / sleep on!
Another rug... *NAILED* down on the floor!
As I left to go in - Arrow was *digging* at it.
And where was Arrow come morning?
SOUND Asleep - ON the ROOF of his Howze!
Rain, sleet, snow - he didn't step foot on that rug for a week!
You WIN!
Took a LOT longer to UN-nail the rug than it took to nail it down;
and I left it in the howze to see if he'd warm up to the pattern...
Yup - Rug OUT, Dawg IN come morning! :p
We Gave Up - he seemed to *like* his HardWood floor!
Rest In Peace, Lil Buddy ~
Dad sure *misses* ya!
