My dog
Hello, I have a female Siberian Huskey she is also half Pitbull. She is beautifull but she is very spectical about people and she always barks and growls at my parents with wanging tail. What does that mean? Also I was wondering if anyone has any tips on training her, she is about 4 months old.

If her tail is wagging, it seems likes she's "talking" to them.

I bet she is a beauty!
Husky's are very talkative by nature. It could be that she is just talking.
However both breeds are VERY smart & independant breeds that can easily become very unruley if they are not socialized & trained at a young age.
I strongly reccomend an obedience class.
Good luck

My puppy
I just taught her today to lay down for a treat. I say, "sit", and she sits, and then I say "paw" and she gives me her paw, then I say, "lay down" and I tap the treat on the floor and she lays down. It really does not take that long for her to learn, new tricks it is just the potty training that's so hard. I wish I could post her picture on this website but I'm not sure I know how. I have a digital but my photo transfer wire does not hook up to my computer. I would put her into a obedience class, but I want one where I can teach her while the trainer is there. Because I just don't see her trying to listen to me if I'm not there while she's learning, u know.

Many obedience classes that are offered, you are the one that actually teaches your dog.
I'm in NY too, upstate, near Rochester. Are you anywhere nearby? I know of a few good obedience trainers around here.

my puppy
I live near Troy, NY. My puppie's name is Alley Mae. She has three other sisters and four brothers. All the others are big like the Siberian Huskey (father), and have colors of black and white but look like the Pitbull shape. It is hard to explain. And she is small like the pitbull (the mother) but has markings like the father, and she has the brown in her from the pitbull. She has one brown eye and one blue. I wish you could see her.

Sounds like a very adorable pup, I love husky's & mixes of all!
have an old friend in Albany that has a great trainer. I'll see if I can contact her to see who she uses, if that is close enough to you.
Or you can always look in your yellow pages to find trainers in your area, or your vets or local shelters should have listings as well.
here's a good site for info. on how to find a good trainer. http://www.hsus.org/ace/11773

The barking and "growling" with a wagging tail does sound like she is talking. Pit Bulls have sassy mouths and will tell you off in several different ways. My favorite is the woo woo woo. Sometimes they throw in a growl, but it's not in an aggressive manner, it's just their special talk. Spend time just watching her so you'll become more familiar with her body language and her different barks and noises and why she does them.

just thought I would throw in that HOW she is wagging her tail matters, wagging fast, means she is just happy and exited. but wagging slow more like flagging(which a LOT people mistake as happily wagging their tail) means stay away.
