It's hard to answer that question because none of us know you. I have 3 chinchillas and they are great, but if you are looking for something "cuddly" then a chinchilla is not what you want. They are very active animals and don't sit still too long. They also need a large cage and I don't know how much room you have. They aren't a pet you would want to keep in your bedroom as they are pretty loud at night.
Hamsters and gerbils are great to, but I personally like rats better. Rats make wonderful pets.
I don't have any personal experience with coatimundi.
Rats
I'd say a guinea pig, but they aren't on there. :)
Yeah, I agree with chrissycat, either a guinea pig or rabbit are low maintnenace and are a lot of fun. A hamster would be a pretty good pet though, too.
I have to disagree, neither a guinea pig or rabbit are 'low maintenece'. They both need a lot of care, vet visits, proper diets, exercise every day, a clean home, etc.
Please tell me what is a coatimundi? I have never heard of it before.
Every pet needs care, In some way a cat could be considered more low maintainence than a caged animal, because of that fact simply, no cage to move around or change the bedding, but every single animal needs lots of care and love and attention
Carole this is a coatimundi.

It seems that it would be a rather high maintnence pet. I'd go with a hamster or rat.
hamster or a rat. while Gerbils are low maintinence, and small, and love human company etc.. they are a bit to small to be real cuddly lol plus there short sleek coats make then not the most comfy to cuddle lol
Oh My GOSH what an unusual animal, looks like a cross between a racoon and an ant eater, very different, thanks for showing me.:)
I would say a rat, as they are small and very cuddly. Have you decided, yet?
im leaning more towards a hamster or a gerbil. The coatimundi is not exactly what im looking for, so that's out. I saw teddy bear hamsters in a store the other day though and they were adorable.
hamsters aren't very cuddley - at least from my experience. I mean, they're very cute and soft, but they don't like to lay on your lap and be petted.
Guinea pigs are cuddley though, and from what I've heard, rats are too.
Small, cute and cuddly, I voted hamster.
