Kay, what are NO WAKE signs? I've never heard of it :o

(My prayers are with those in Florida .. I'm hoping Jeanne won't do too much damage).

No Wake signs are actually something use in waterways... mostly canals. It means that you have to go slow so your boat doesn't create much of a wake.


I actually haven't been watching the news lately. I guess that's why i've been sane. :p

I know I shouldn't Kay - but I did giggle :D - especially the:

For some reason the mental picture that conjured up has really tickled my funny bone - can't stop giggling!

Kfamr, I know it's serious business in Forida with the hurricanes and Jeanne ready to come, but I'm glad that you have retained a good sense of humor! (it probably keeps you from going NUTS!)

That is the first thought that came to me too! Kay I have sent this on to my brother-in-law in the Keys and a good friend of mine who retired a few years ago and now lives near Orlando.

after throwing out a ton fo food after Charley, we now are keeping a pretty empty freezer and refrigerator.

Your pool is more accurately described as "framed in" than "screened in"
if you even have a frame, my parents lost that too.

Your freezer in the garage now only has homemade ice in it
our inside and outside freezers have frozen water jugs in them.

Your Street has more than 3 "NO WAKE" signs posted
okay so there are no "no wake" signs, but there should've been after Frances. My street wasn't too bad (it was my yard that flooded), but the main street through town was under a lot of water. You actually couldn't see the road at all, it was a total water way.

I am so sorry you are going thru this! Hope you and yours are OKAY?

Keeping a sense of humor is all anyone can do. I have quite a few friends and family members in different parts of FL. Fortunately no one lost their lives.
One of our in laws lives in Punta Gorda...she lucked out and only lost part of her roof, which thanks to close friends in the construction business has already been repaired (at least good enough for now). She found a young black lab with an injured leg after the storm. She took him in and had the vet fix him up. She tried to find his owners but so far has had no luck. Looks like 'Charley' has a new home now.

Thanks for posting this, Kay... I'm going to send this to my uncle Bill.

I just did that today, only bought enough meat for a few days just in case we lose power again. Last time I lost over $300 worth of food...........wont make that mistake again. ;)
