English ambiguity
I think I remember a long time ago there being a thread on the english language and how it is confusing and stuff. There was a bunch of sentences to show this (you know like there, their, etc) does any one happen to know where the thread is/do you know any? I need 2 examples to show how english is ambiguous and I can't think of any T-T

Thanks. That wasn't the one I was thinking of though..an example would be
"Time flies like an arrow" that isn't a good one, but it's the one the book gave T-T Just things that mean more then one thing. Or something? o_O;

You've touched on one of my pet peeves. Sale, sell, sail. Hear, here. Ideal vs. idea. These are the little things that grate on my nerves!!
*pulls hair*
Sorry having a crummy day. ;)

That is also a pet peeve of mine. I've been having to attend a training class for work, and the instructor constantly says "ideal" instead of "idea." (And this lady has a Master's degree.) Otherwise, she's done a great job.

There is also: they're, there, and their (<-- my pet peeve when people get it wrong) and rode and road...
Edit: There's also your and you're.. sea and see.. and a billion others.. :p

Where, wear, were. Bear, bare. Dear, deer. Male, mail. Tail, tale. Whale, wail. There's lots of them. ;)
