Let me intoduce my beloved companion Angus. Out of all of the 21 bird's that own me he is my favorite. He is a Sulfur-Crested Coockatoo. I have had him about 6 years. I am a diabetic(I am not complaining), sleeping beside me he will wake me if my blood sugar gets to low. I don't know how he can tell. On my bad day's he is right there to cheer me each and every time. He is the only bird I know that hugs, He will put his head on my chest and wrap those big wings around me, my husband says it is quite comical.
:p I think Cookatoo's get a bad wrap, because they are a little moody, but they are well worth the trouble for all the good they bring. Here are a couple of pix of him, i hardly can decied which one's to show, I have so many.

What a gorgeous bird he is! And WOW he sounds like a truly amazing bird. I would love see a picture of him giving you a hug!

hehe, Id love to get a picture of Angus giving hugs. He is a real shy guy though...he kinda clams up when there is company around.

Angus sounds very special and very sweet. I am so glad that he is there for you. I am diabetic too and one of my dogs has woken me when I had low blood sugar. I don't understand how they know either, but it is something truly miraculous.

OMG!!! He kinda looks like my Popcorn, except he's much bigger!!! SO cute!!!! Its my dream to have a cockatoo someday. I just love those birds. Your Angus is so beautiful. I would love to see him giving hugs!!!
