I have 2 cats. Zoey, a half manx half simese and Katie, a calico. They fight all the time. I wouldn't really know because I only have one cat but i would like to make a suggestion, maybe you could give them seperate romos and keep them in different places?Quote:

How old are they? Are they spayed? What do they seem to be fighting about? Did you get one of them recently?

You might want to browse some of the older posts, because this question comes up time and time again, but usually the long-term answer is make sure they're both neutered, loved, and given the same amount of attention, and they will eventually at least peacefully coexist. This of course, applies if one has been in your house longer than the other and they have both been neutered all along. If this is new behavior in old housemates, though, you might want to take the more agressive one to the vet. If this is new behavior in maturing kittens, neutering will likely take care of it.

both of them have been spayed. if it makes a difference, zoey was spayed when she was a kitten and katie was spayed as a younger kitten. zoey is about 4 years old and katie is only about 2. we kept zoey and katie in the house each while they were kittens. when we got katie we kept her upstairs at night and zoey downstairs, but it really didn't seem to make a difference because we kept them both downstaires during the day and zoey didn't seem to mind. all the fighting just started about 4 months ago. still http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/confused.gif
Hey Spencer, could I sprinkle some of that flower essence all over Butter so that Mimi would learn to like him??? I've almost given up, but we haven't had any blood yet! She can't stand him!!! And being the young, curious boy that he is, the more she hisses and growls, the more he wants to check her out!! I'm just learning to live with it, Scottie, but I do find it strange that after all this time they have decided to hate each other. I thought my problem was because I introduced a new one to the house and the old one (Queen Bee that she is) just wasn't very accepting of it.
Hope you get it worked out. Since mine go in and out (I know how most of you feel about that, but they really stay in the backyard most of the time) I can isolate them that way, and its usually Butter who goes outdoors.

Since this is a new problem in cats that are well established in the household, I would consider a visit to the vet, or at least a mention of the problem the next time they go. It's not likely, but it could be a medical problem causing the agression.
How long have you had them? Have they ever got in a fight before? Are they both males, or both females? Cats are very territorial, they sometimes have their own reasons that we can't understand. I'll check about that...
