Hi all -- I have a problem I haven't been able to find decent information on, hopefully someone here can help me...
Well, we have a new kitten and his litterbox used to be in the back bathroom. We recently moved it out, and discovered he had gone all around the edge of the carpet behind where the litterbox was. Sigh.
I just spent twenty minutes scrubbing it with cleaner, but it seems like all I'm doing is putting it into the carpet more. It's runny, and nasty... and ugh... HELP!

One of your best best is a carpet extraction macine (little Green Clean Machine, or a rented carpet cleaner, etc.). It shoots the cleaning solution down into the fibers and draws everything back out.
Hi, I grew up having cats and what we always did was used baking soda and water , and some times we used vinegar water.
Feed your cat Science Diet from now on too :)
That is some food that will make accidents easy to clean up. I've had great success with both cat & dog Science Diet food accident cleanups.
Natures Miracle or Simple Solution.
I purchased something called OdorXit...it has enzeymes (sic) that break down the material. The problem with cleaning carpet is that you will never get to the padding and floor underneath. So, it won't be a great job. Can you remove the padding and get to the floor to treat it?
After you use one of those carpet cleaning machines, I advise treating the area with Simple Solution to remove any lingering odor. You may not detect any, but cats have a superior sense of smell. I use SS whenever I find any "accidents" and it works like a charm!:)
