Mishi to White Coats - PT prayers please

I took Mishi to the white coats this a.m. to spend the day. Ever since switching to the K/D diet I've noticed that he sometimes gets constipated - I check his litterbox for "evidence." However now it looks like he hasn't peed in a couple of days and he's been meowing more than usual (he's very vocal anyway, but this was noticeably more).

He's due for a follow-up from his ultra scan a couple of months ago too, so we'll see what the vet ends up doing.

The tech hinted that they may have to give him an enema :eek: Oh boy -- I KNOW he's not going to like that! So PT prayers please that nothing more major is going on than he's just a bit plugged up and needs help getting his plumbing de-plugged. I just hope that his kidneys are doing the job they're supposed to do and that he's not going into kidney failure.

On another note, this was the first time I got to use his new deluxe Sherpa carrier - WOW! That thing truly is the Rolls Royce of cat carriers! It's on wheels so the trip to the vet was not too stressful on my back.

Oh no! I sure hope poor Mishi is ok!

I had to stop giving T & P the hairball formula food because it was making Tubby seriously constipated. Don't know if that is similar to the K/D, but it sounds like it to me.

Oh Mishi, sweetheart:( An enema...that's no fun:( But paws crossed that it's nothing more than a little backup. We're thinking of you Mishi!!!

The "NO Pee" problem is possibly more serious than the
"NO Pooh" problem!

Did you make it clear to the White Coat Crowd that he had't "pee'd"
for a long time??

Hopefully they will palpate his bladder to see if it's empty
or too full; as well as checking for a "solids back-up".

Yes, I know, which is why he went in today for an emergency drop-off at the vet .... of course I'm getting ready for a trial at work and don't have a minute to spare, so I'll have to go pick him up tonight (unless they want to keep him overnight) and then get back to the office <sigh> kids and cats -- gotta love 'em and I do so very muchly.

Vet just called ... They're going to do the bloodwork and an abdominal X-ray. Right now she doesn't feel anything abnormal, except that he's overweight! :eek: Hmm .... he feels pretty lean to me.

If they need to catheterize him, they'll have to keep him for a few days/up to a week! Yikes! I wonder how much that is going to cost me? Pet insurance doesn't cover stuff like this. :(

I pray that Mishi will be okay. I didn't see this post until now.

OH no! Prayers on the way for poor Mishi. I hope the bloodwork and x-rays can find the problem and that it is easily treated. Paws crossed.

Kinda wonder about the "HAVE to keep him for a few days / week..."

Dunno bout THAT!
Boots was sent home the SAME DAY he got his catheter -
all :eek: THREE times...

The catherer was "Secured" in place with a
little "bracket" for lack of the medical term...
that was held to HIM with a couple of stitches...

And of course an E-collar which prevented him from doing any
catheter Removals!

Only "requirement" of ME was to confine him so the constant "drip"
from the catheter didn't harm the house;
and to keep him clean "back there" - because he couldn't do it
himself because of the collar.

Annnd - I had to be able to gather a pee "sample" for testing.
No Big Deal - Boots finally learned to "dribble" in a plastic baggie lined
litter pan - which made collecting a "sample" pretty easy.

He VERY Quickly learned how to *EAT* & *Drink* with the E-collar -
he'd just walk up to his bowls and *PLUNK* the collar down FLAT on
the floor - and *munch* away!

Hope poor Mishi comes home Rite Away!!

Prayers on the way for little Mishi!! Phred's on the job so I'm sure everything will work out OK.

Mishi, don't let anyone tell you that you're overweight. It's just "dinner muscle" ;) :eek:

Mishi, I hope you get well soon. I as well would think he may have an UTI.

:D I love his little "flubby" :D The rest of him really is very lean - I can very easily feel his bones through his skin all over his body except for his "flubby"
