What's happening? Are you seeing a trainer or a dietitian?? You certainly don't look like you need it by your picture....

My doctor told me if it tasted good, not to eat it. I know what not to eat but it's just not that easy. I sometimes wish my tastebuds were dead :p
Oh no! Good luck David.
Good Luck! Keeping fingers and paws crossed!
Good luck, David ..... but I'll warn you, there isn't much LEFT that we CAN eat!!! In fact, I was just about to post a thread asking other diabetics for food suggestions, and ask them what they eat on a daily basis. I have been diagnosed since last winter, and I still haven't gotten used to this "new lifestyle"! It is very hard to adjust! :(
Sorry David, did not mean to make "light" of the subject.....
I could use some "not see food" tips myself. Any advice you can give me is greatly appreciated. Good luck.
Good luck, David!
Kim, that is a really good idea for a thread, my husband is a diabetic, and I would really like to hear what everybody else eats, and you know it would be nice to have some good recipes too!
Willie:)
I hae a question, and please excuse my ignorance. I should know better considering I had one diabetic grandparent on each side of the family. But can diabetics not eat certain foods EVER, or is it permitted once in a blue moon? Or does it depend on the type and severity of the disease?
Thanks, Catnapper. I can use all the support I can get!! I also started a thread on Purr Pals, too.Quote:

It definitely depends on several factors - including what type of Diabetes you have, your weight, how active you are, and how well you are managing you blood sugar - whether you are needing to take medication or not, and how much, and how level you are managing.
No, I am not diabetic. My brother-in-law was diagnosed last fall, and have have friends who are diabetic as well. But much of it I know from childhood. I grew up down the street from the Clara Barton birthplace. Clara Barton founded the American Red Cross, and on the site of her birthplace is a also summer camp for diabetic girls, many of whom would walk past our yard (and stop and pet the family dog - whichever one was in residence at that moment) and so stop to chat with us.
Aly - friend of animals, foster-mom of many - is diabetic. She may have some recipes and hints for the newbies!
