Beautiful and smart Maya, it's little wonder that you are smart because you have a pair of very smart humans in your household. Your dad is "right on" when he talks about all the pups in shelters of various sorts and the tremendous amount of love that each one offers. He is also right about a dog making a couple into a family. Someone who is a loving person can make the difference between life and death for a wonderful pup. It is such a shame for all that love to go unutilized and it's just as much a shame to deprive a great dog of a good home.

Maya, when I saw your picture earlier today, I just had to say "Awww" You look so sweet sleeping curled up in a ball. I recently got a good photo of my dog doing that, too. I love it. I'm so glad you've got such a special home. You must be really loved and that's the way it should be. I think all dogs should be treated like royalty.
