This Darn dog of mine will NOT Stop peeing on the floor at night. I take him out to pee before bed and make sure he does and STILL PEES ON THE FLOOR. last night he pood as well. I am getting fed up. I don't know what to do. I took him to the vets a while ago and he had an infection but it went away (the infection) cuz his pee was clear and now it isn't.

Take him back to the vet. And take him out a second time at night, he's your baby, so if you have to get up in the middle of the night to feed or change your baby, the same applies here.
I'm sure you'll figure something out, he's probably miserable having to go pee inside too.
Do you have a crate for him? If not perhaps you can try that, after he gets used to it, a dog won't want to eliminate that close to themselves unless there is something seriously wrong, perhaps kenneling at night will help.
I would take him back to the vet for another urine sample, sounds like he may still have an infection.
Also make sure you clean the area very very well with a product just for that purpose (natures miricle works great)

I would take him back to the vet first. And, what I did with my puppy was to set my alarm and take him out about two to four hours, depending. Is he only peeing once during the night? Maybe you could set your alarm to wake you up four hours into the night. See if that works. Crate training is a good idea. I've heard people use newspaper inside, or those pee pads, if you don't wanna crate. I don't think bleach actually gets the odor out, but, I could be wrong.
I'm just curious, how are you reacting when you find the mess in the morning?
I recommend crating after being certain that there are no infections. Dogs have instincts that tell them not to soil in their den. Their den being their crate in this case. Kai's first night in the crate, he soiled but from the second night on, he didn't.
Take him back to the vet.
Try crate training.
Install a doggie door.
I was yelling at him in the morning but i don't bother anymore. he doesn't respond. he just walks away.
I can't put a doggie door in cuz he will run away.. again.. (he's done it many times) we live on a farm and he like to walk away (even whe he is out for like 5 minutes he is gone)
Don't yell at him unless you actually catch you him in the act, they can't associate you yelling at them to something they did 2 minutes ago.
Also don't yell at him until you get his urine rechecked, it may not be his fault, he may still have an infection. Have you had it re-checked yet?
Also is he urinating in the same spots everytime or allover?
How old is he?
How long have you had him?
Is he neutered?
Monitoring him should help, like mentioned before take him out in the middle of the night, etc. As often as possible, especially if he still has an infection.
Does he give you any clues at all when he has to go or is it only when no one is home?
i have not been back to the vet yet, he pees in the same spot. every night same spot.
He is 3 years old next week, have had him since he was 8 weeks, yes he is neutered.
I take him out right before bed (usually 10pm) and take him out as soon as we get up (usually 4am)
I can't take him out at night because there is not enough time in the night to stay up for an hour or two to take him out.
he stays outside all day and when he IS in with us he doesn't go. only during the night
Why would you need an hour or two to take him out in the middle of the night? You could set your alarm and wake up two hours after you go to bed, and, see if he's peed yet. Take him out, five minutes max. Go back to sleep. Set your alarm and wake up two hours after that, see if he's peed. Just to see when he's going to the bathroom at night. If he's going about three or four hours after you go to bed, just set your alarm to catch him before he goes. And, what are your thoughts on crate training? You haven't acknowledged those suggestions. Or the pee pads?
If it's the same spot, you may want to try cleaning it again. If a dog smells the scent from the last time he peed there, he'll feel the need to do it again.. and again.. and again until you remove the odor. I don't know if bleach alone will do the job but I've heard that Nature's Miracle works great.
I would need and hour or two because i can not get up for 5 minutes and go right back to sleep. i am lucky if i can sleep an hour after i go to bed. (insomniac) but if i am still awake i do check on him once and a while.

wont pee pads encourage him to pee more?
I have one crate (no pillow), one plastic dog house (LOTS of blankets and pillows), one dog bed (blankets and pillows as well) and my bed in my room. Of all the things they can sleep on, the crate is their favorite. It's actually Kai's crate so he sleeps in there most of the time but the moment Kai gets out, Kaedyn rushes in and steals it. They prefer it over all their other options. If it were "mean", they wouldn't rush into it and try beating the other one in there would they? So to answer your question, no it's not mean.Quote:

no i mean isn't it mean putting him in a crate when she runs free and can do anything she wants?
I know crates are not mean. i know lots of dogs LOVE THEM! :)
