Happy 11th Birthday Duke!

I really don't know Duke's birthday. It's just a guess from the age when I got him. I've looked and looked but can't find the first pics I took of him in 1993. Saddens me as I never knew how special he'd be to me. I found some real chicken jerky treats at Sams for his birthday present. He loves them.

You came into my life when it was supposed to be the happiest. With me just married, I had ignored the things that I knew to be fact. My cat stayed behind because I was afraid of what my new husband might do. I know you've forgiven me for that horrible life in Texas but I still have trouble forgiving myself. We've been through so much together and that has made our bond so strong. I wish so much that I had taken more pics of you. You are my most precious gift that I will always cherish. It makes me sad that you're getting older. It means your life on earth is getting shorter. So, Happy Birthday, sweet baby dog.

I'm not sure if you understand how great you've become in my heart, and how great you've alwats been in Valerie's.

You're such a sweetie and I just love laying on the living room floor rubbing your cute chest. And when I stop, how you push yourself closer and paw at me asking for more.
I love how you and your wonderful mommy come and visit us, and I enjoy every sencond of it.

You're just as playful as a little pup, and as sweet as one too.
