Gorgeous Collie in Ohio
Was doing my daily perusal of Petfinder looking for Collie and Golden puppies and stumbled across this gorgeous collie. If she wasn't a Rough, I mighta had to see about snatching this cutie up.

Also her name is Katie Jo. I've a groomer friend who claims that in all her years of grooming all of her best and favorite dogs were named Katie. So that's a real good omen.;)

I have a question andmabe i am just plain dumb but why do they call her a rough? is that a type of breed in collies???? or is it that she plays rough??im a bit confused.

Collies come in two coat types Rough(lassie type) or smooths (short haired) I have freinds who raise smoothes.

Hi pitbullmom!
Rough refers to her coat. There's 2 coat types for Collies. Rough, which is Long, and thanks to Lassie, is the most known. And Smooth, which is a short coat. I have a male Smooth Collie. and here's a pic of him, to get an idea of what they look like:

I love the look of the Roughs, but do agility and hiking and other outdoor activities with my Smoothie. So I really don't want the headache of the grooming involved with a Rough. With the Smooth, you get all those wonderful Collie traits, without the grooming hassle.

Whoa!
She looks IDENTICAL to Molly when she was a pup! :D If only she weren't so far away from me...
Come on Par, you KNOW you want her. ;) The grooming does require a lot of care, but look at what you get in return!
