Nobody names their human kids Butterscotch, Thumper or Skinny. LOL
I have been told Lexie means defender of Mankind, and is the pet form of Alexandra, yes I can just see this dear little petite black kitty of mine defending all mankind lol.
Ash is self explanatory but is named after Ash on Pokemon.
Lock's name, is, of course, not in there! :) But, Finn means Fair! Which I guess could mean "just" which is cool. Or, it could be referring to coloring....like fair haired....which would fit, cuz Finn is yellow! :)
Neither Tibby or Corkscrew are in there. But my name means Laurel-Crowned
George is a farmer.
Milly ( Mildred ) is Mild Strength. Lol! They've never met her then.
Milo ( Miles ) is Soldier. Hmmm, not sure too many squadies like having their bellies tickled. At least no in that way ;)
Sandy comes from Alexander apparently. Not sure I'd agree with that.
But anyway, it means Protector of Mankind. This is a cat who visibly trembles when you pick him up and runs away if he catches you watching him out of a window.
Heheheheee.
Bob ( Robert ). Bright Fame. Cool!
I think it's kindof like alexander....xander...sander...sandy.? Maybe? :)Quote:

Well, I have Hanna, Abby and Bo. I like picking people names for my cats, and it seens I like to pick old-fashioned sounding names for them. Naming of cats is not to be taken lightly, all my cats were nameless for about a month until I picked a name that suited them. I keep saying I have the Amish cat family ( disclaimer - I honestly don't know if Hanna, Abby and Bo are common Amish names), but the names fit them.
Well, Juni means Junioara (feminin for Junior) - The Young, Child). It is just pronounced differently than in English. And Pichu means kiddo, so.... :) I'm sure I can't find his name on the site :)
This is what the search engine said about mine:
Lily
Gender: Female
Meaning: Blossoming flower
Origin: Latin
Luna
Gender: Female
Meaning: The Moon
Origin: Latin
Well, knew about the meanings before, but I didn't know Lily has also a latin origin.
Of course the search engine hasn't listed the names of my RBs, Katz and Aysche.
Katz is German and is short for Katze which means cat, and Aysche is a Turkish name, and as far as I know it means "The Living".
Kirsten
Bastet:
Egyptian Goddess of Love, dancing and Food. Also Godess of the Sun as well. Purrfect cat name :)
Misty- Covered with Mist, Dew
Sada- Pure One
Although, Sada's full name is Lil Crusader (after our school mascot) but that name isn't on there so I had to use her nick name.
Ash :D
Ally got her name for two reasons:
1. We found her in the garden - hence she is an "Alley-Cat"
2. I love the TV show Ally McBeal
(It actually means "Of Noble Birth", but I am not going to tell her that - she is enough of a stuck-up little madam already!! LOL
Connor was named courtesy of the kind folks here on Pet Talk - I had a short-list of names, and being Scottish wanted something of Gaelic origin - Connor was chosen as the best name on the list.
It means "Most Wanted" and that is true - I waited months for him!!!
Julie means Soft-haired, youthful, which she is...but it was the name given to her by the rescue organizaion. We decided to keep the name when we adopted her.
