One of my birds died last night. :(

One of my finches died last night. I found him in the bottom of the cage this morning. :(

He was one of the two oldest ones, so maybe it was just old age. Hard to tell, I suppose.

He was the male to my most closely bonded pair, though ... and the poor female was calling and calling for him all day. Sad. :(

I am so sorry to hear of your loss, I am sure the little finch had a wonderful life, and will be singing at RB by now, poor little girl left behind, maybe she will like another mate soon, hopefully,RIP little birdie, and hugs to you.

Oh that really sucks Twister! :( Poor little girl. I am so sorry for your loss. I don't know much about finches but can you try to introduce her to another pair of birdies or something?

She is actually in a flight cage with eight other finches ... but she and her mate were very close. :( So, although she has plenty of other friends, they are all paired up, and she is all alone.

I have put in a request at the pet store for them to order me a male society finch, to see if she will accept him as a new mate. But, societies are hard to get here, usually all they get is zebra finches. So, we'll wait and see.

I'm sorry, I used to have finches and I know how sad it is to see them go, I lost a lot due to inbreeding I guess which I didn't know much about back then:(

The saddest time was when Hope died, one of the babies I was hand raising. She got all cold one night and I slept by her cage. When I woke up the next morning, she was dead.

I really feel for you and give the poor "wife" an extra treat stick from me:)
