I'm starting school on Tuesday night!!

I've been wrestling with the idea of getting my EMT certification for the State of Michigan for the last month or so.

I e-mailed Henry Ford Community College to get info on it but got no response. I finally called today and talked with an advisor who told me classes start Tuesday night. :eek:

I applied online. The advisor told me to do that and then just show up for class so I don't miss anything important. She said I can apply for financial assistance next week.

I told her that I was an EMT in CT for over 20 years. She said that I could've challenged the exam if I still had my certification, but I don't so I have to take the classes all over again. That's fine with me. She also said to speak to the instructor and find out if I can just take the exams. I'd rather participate in the classes because protocol changes so much.

So, looks like I'll be a studying fool for the next 9 months. At least then I'll have a job that pays good. Plus I enjoy the work and I know I'm good at it. *pats self on back*

That's great, but what if you get the job at PetSmart?? Will you work and study too????

Thanks everyone! I'm pretty excited to going through the course again, since I've already done it once before. It'll be like a refresher class.

It definitely will NOT interfere with Findlay Dog Park. My classes are during the week in the evenings. If I have to study, I can always bring my books with me :D:D
