Help me! I was told Priincess was a pursian, but she looks like a Maine Coon!
-
Persians are the ones with flat, mushed in faces, aren't they? If I'm right, I say Princess is more Maine Coone than Persian. She may still have Persian in her, but I don't thing she's purebred. Were you told she was purebred or just part Persian?
-
Yes, I agree. A Persian has a flat pushed in face. To me she looks like she could have some Maine Coon in her.:) Before I knew much about cats, I used to think that all long haired cats were Persians.
-
I agree she may have some persian but I see more Maine coon .
-
She looks neither MainCoon or persian. She just looks like a regular Domestic Medium Hair. :) MainCoons have broader heads, more muscle and are HUGE, not to mention have a lot of hair. ;) The kitten in my sig, Ewok is part Main Coon. Persians have squished, blunt faces.

I don't know my cat breeds. I call my cat Ron a cow. lol.

I agree with luckies4me, she doens't really look like either but she may have a little Maine Coon in her.

her first vet said she had part blue tail pursian, when sun hits her fur it looks part blue... I know she isnt a pure breed. But Last time I was at the vet I was looking at this cat poster with different breeds, and she looks alot like a maine coon, she has very long hair... and very poofy.. she had a trim a few weeks ago...when she got groomed...So I dont know?

No offense but I think your vet is a little crazy lol. Your cat may have long hair, but that doesn't mean he has Main Coon in him. Cats with Main Coon in them look a certain way and have a certain build to their body. I've never heard of a Blue Tail Persian before. Do you have any information on these?

Well if she is blue, oragne green or yellow, she is my princess and worth even more than any cat in the world to me! I was just curious what she had in her..... anywho.... see ya later! P.S. I think me and Tonya have alot alike lol... I think Tony is a cow too! :p

My vet told me that Kylie might have a 'touch' of Maine Coon in her a long the line. B/c of her ear tufts.
Whatever she is, not that it matters, she is beautiful!

That's the most important thing. No matter what mix she is - she's a cutie!! So are your other furbabies. :)

About a hundred years ago Persians didn't have those flat faces...they more looked like the Turkish Van cat...a delicate long haired cat with a beautiful small face...but breeders have created that new "Persian" over the years, because a flat face looks more baby-like...
Maybe if your cat is a Persian mix it shows the original gene potential which I am sure lies dormant in each of today's Persians as well...however your cat is beautiful and loved and that's the most important thing!!!
:) :) :)

I got a kick out of this answer, Thanks:D Not to throw fact in here, but Ron would be a bull. However, if he has been nuetered, you can really call him whatever you what.
I was going to say that she could have some maine in her, but the neck fur doesn't look quite right. However, I read your post where you said that she had been trimmed, so that may account for the lack of hair in spots that I would expect it. I don't see the Persian, but then again I am no expert.
I agree it really doesn't matter what she is as long as you love her.:)
I think that I will follow Tonya's lead and I will start calling Bob a Llama.;)
