Took a stray to the Emergency Vet tonight
I just flew in from San Diego about an hour ago and my son and his fiance had found a stray that was hurt and brought it into the house. He had some kind of wound on his back, so as soon as I came home and saw him we took him right the the emergency vet hospital. I didn't look at the wound very closely - I just picked him up to take him to the hospital. The kids said he was walking a little but wasn't even attempting to eat or drink any water. I feared that he would not make it through the night so I thought taking him in was imperative. He looked like an older Aussie Shepard Mix of some kind - well fed and he had tags.
It is the same emergency hospital my vet is affiliated with so they are going to call me when they know something. Just wanted to let everyone know so they could send healing vibes and prayers his way. When I have any more information, I will let everyone know.
Just got a call from the EV
Just got a call from the Emergency Vet. He is doing fine. They thought the wound was either a bite wound or a ruptured cyst. They cleaned it up, gave him some antibiotics.
The really great news is
They located his family
They came to pick him up this morning. I am so happy - I worried about this dog all night long.
