Winter Cat

My cat has adopted the fireplace as his hangout this winter. He snoozes in front of it or just sits there with his nose against the screen most of the evening.

I haven't had a fire since we adopted Jazz last year and now Scout. I'm too afraid they will get into it. Ripley never went near it but I don't trust the others.

I have noticed that - since it's getting colder - Luna starts sleeping on the computer table again. I have a lamp there and she loves to sleep in the warm spot of light on the table! :)

I that an ottoman that she overtook or an actual cat loft? Either way, all I see is a happy kitty. :)

It's a simple box about 8" (20 cm) high covered with four towels. He'd lay on the floor there but that put him below the heat stream so he'd have to sit with his face into the screen to get warm. Now he sleeps on the box for hours and gets quite toasty. Abys don't really put on a winter coat so they really crowd in bed at night (they are routinely cuddly anyway but when it's cold it becomes an imperative!).

Dont be suprise if you Cats have Angel Cats come to visit , as I never got around to putting in a baseboard heater , before they passed on. They will be quiet , and only Winter Cat will know!

Awwwwww, I wish we had a fireplace for my babies to do that! You are very sweet to wire it shut and have a cozy place for your furbaby to sit! :D
