I found this in the Earthlink magazine: www.petshelter.org has a list of cats and dogs available for adoption across the US and Canada. And if you have a pet that needs a new home, use the site's Home Finder service.

I went to the site you mentioned and what a heart-breaking experience. I can not imagine people being so cruel to such sweet innocent creatures. I found one story about a 5lb, 1 year old chihuahua named Binky that had both his front legs broken by his former owners. He needs a lot of surgery etc. to fix him up and they are looking for donations. I will send what I can right away but it is just incomprehensivable to me that anyone could do such a horrible thing. :confused:
