Woooo Hooo!!! Yesterday, our territorial gov't announced it's budget til the end of this fiscal year. Included in that is a large amount of money for the Humane Society! It's the first time we have ever received any gov't funding and they have guarenteed in writing on-going yearly funding, although the amount may vary. This money is enough to not only keep our doors open, but to provide better care for our animals, start some education program, rehire the staff we were forced to lay off, maybe even pay our exceptional, dedicated staff a tiny bit more!:D The animals of the Yukon are now assured that they will have a safe place to go when they need one! :D :D :D :D
